Greek High School Students Win Europe’s Biggest Money Quiz
Two high school students from a small town outside Thessaloniki captured first place at Europe’s largest financial literacy competition, outperforming teams from 30 countries during the European Money Quiz finals held in Brussels earlier this week.
Sofia Maria Trivyza and Ourania Tetziridou, first-year students at Mygdonia General High School in Drymos, earned the championship title in the international contest organized by the European Banking Federation (EBF) in partnership with national banking associations, including the Hellenic Bank Association (HBA).
The Greek students secured the win with a perfect score, correctly answering all 30 financial literacy questions in the shortest amount of time. Latvia finished in second place, followed by Italy in third.
PDDG’s President and CEO, George Dimotakis, is Greek-American and a huge advocate for financial literacy at all ages. Congrats to these two young women for their incredible accomplishment!
