On September 9, 2025, the State of California celebrates its 175th birthday. A series of public events will be held leading up to the official Birthday Block Party at the California State Capitol. Sacramento, California has served as the global HQ for PDDG since our founding on February 1, 1977. Over the past 48+ years, we have added two regional offices in California and several across the country and overseas. We are proud to call California home!

Labor Day honors and recognize the American labor movement and the works and contributions of laborers to the development and achievements in the US. We wish all our staff, friends, client partners, colleagues, and vendors a safe and enjoyable Labor Day Holiday Weekend. All PDDG US offices will be closed on Monday, September 1, in celebration of the holiday.

Since first exhibiting at the City-County Communications & Marketing Association (3CMA) Annual Conference in Denver in 2018, we have thoroughly enjoyed our participation in this event. This year, we are yet again renewing our commitment to 3CMA by sponsoring the 2025 Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, from September 3-5. Monday, August 25 marks the Summer Bank Holiday in the United Kingdom. The holiday, created as part of the Bank Holidays Act 1871, was originally held on the first Monday of August, but was later changed to the last Monday in August in the 1960s. PDDG has proudly called England home of our first international office since 2021. Our UK Office will be closed today in celebration of the holiday.

World Water Week will be celebrated August 24-28 this year. Created in 1991 by Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI), World Water Week champions cooperation across sectors and national boundaries. We are grateful to our many water agency clients who work diligently to provide safe, reliable water systems that support environmental stewardship and careful future-focused planning.

Congratulations to the Town of Gilbert for being named the #1 mid-sized city in the nation for economic growth in Coworking Cafe’s “Rising Powerhouses” study, covering 2019–2023. We have proudly served as the marketing communications agency of record for Gilbert since 2014, providing dedicated support for the town's economic development and tourism programs.

The Greater Sacramento Economic Council (GSEC) has been ranked the #1 Economic Development Organization (EDO) in the world for 2025 by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). With our global headquarters in Sacramento, PDDG proudly served as GSEC's marketing agency of record from 2018 to 2021.

Five Points Board of REALTORS® recently unveiled their new logo, which includes a refreshed design featuring a dynamic five-point star paired with an inviting house icon, symbolizing growth, community, and excellence in service. We’re proud to partner with Five Points Board of REALTORS® to create a visual identity that reflects their vision, who they are, and where they’re headed.

Joe Caroff, an world-famous graphic designer and creative genius, died on August 17, just one day short of his 104th birthday. Perhaps most famous for designing the iconic James Bond 007 gun logo, for which he was paid $300 in 1962, Caroff also produced countless film posters and opening sequences for some of the most well-known producers around the globe.

NeighborWorks Waco, a non-profit organization whose mission is to build stronger neighborhoods through homeownership, quality rental housing, and community-building initiatives, has named Delisa Burnell-Smith as its next President and CEO. Since 2023, we have served as the marketing agency of record for NeighborWorks Waco.

The City of Suffolk, Virginia, a longtime PDDG client partner, recently launched a fully revamped “Rec on the Go” mobile experience for its Parks and Recreation Department. The PDDG creative team developed fun, welcoming graphics, including custom illustrations, for a full vehicle wrap to be placed on a newly purchased van. The graphics draw from the department’s color palette and showcase bright, family-friendly visuals.
