Ladybirds Swarm UK Homes This Week
Here is a fun story out of our UK Office: Ladybirds (known as “ladybugs” in North America) have been spotted swarming UK homes and businesses this past week. According to news reports, the recent cold end to September and unseasonably warm early October temperatures likely contributed to the increased sightings of ladybirds.
The insects are seeking out shelter and warmth for their winter hibernation and are often spotted congregating around window sills and trim, as they can typically fit through very small gaps around loose fitting windows.
We spotted several large groups of ladybirds around our London office this week. In case you are wondering, ladybirds are completely harmless to humans and homes and they are very important to gardens as they keep numerous plant sucking bugs at bay.
