National Disability Employment Awareness Month Celebrates 80th Anniversary
In October 2025, we mark the 80th anniversary of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), honoring the valuable contributions of people with disabilities to the American workforce.
This annual observance began in 1945 as a weeklong recognition of workers with physical disabilities. In 1988, Congress officially established NDEAM, expanding its focus to promote greater inclusion of people with all types of disabilities—including mental health conditions and other non-apparent disabilities—across all areas of employment.
PDDG has proudly supported the inclusion and elevation of individuals with disabilities in the workforce via our long-standing work with workforce development organizations across the country.
