Ontario Airport Announces New Terminal and Other Facilities
Driven by sustained passenger growth, Ontario International Airport is moving forward with a major expansion program that will significantly increase capacity and modernize its facilities. The airport served 7.1 million passengers last year—up 27% from the 5.6 million travelers recorded in 2019 before the pandemic. Reflecting this momentum, Global Traveler magazine recognized Ontario as the nation’s fastest-growing airport for the 2018-2022 period.
The expansion plan includes the modernization of Terminals 2 and 4 and the construction of a new three-story, 650,000-square-foot Terminal 3 between the existing facilities. Additional improvements call for a six-story parking garage north of the terminal complex, a new rental car support facility, upgraded taxiways and roadways, a federal inspection facility, and a central utility plant to support future growth.
The PDDG Inland Empire Regional Office team frequents the Ontario International Airport for it’s convenient proximity to our office and ease of access to destinations across California and the U.S. We look forward to this upcoming expansion!
