Dollar Tree Opens 9,500th Store in Suffolk
Congratulations to our friends in Suffolk, Virginia, as Dollar Tree celebrates its 40th anniversary with two major milestones: the opening of its 9,500th store in Suffolk, Virginia, and a $40 million investment through the newly established Dollar Tree Impact Fund. Located at 6150 College Drive, the new store marks a homecoming for the retailer, which began in nearby Norfolk and is now headquartered in Chesapeake.
Today, Dollar Tree serves more than 100 million U.S. households annually, offering everyday essentials, seasonal favorites, and affordable finds. To celebrate the milestone, more than 100 associates will join Keep Suffolk Beautiful for a community cleanup as part of Keep America Beautiful’s Greatest American Cleanup, commemorating America’s 250th birthday.
Through the Dollar Tree Impact Fund, established with the Hampton Roads Community Foundation, the company will invest $40 million in nonprofit organizations and community-led initiatives across the United States and Canada. The funding will expand access to everyday essentials, address local needs, and strengthen the communities where Dollar Tree associates, customers, and neighbors live and work.
We have had the pleasure of supporting Suffolk’s economic development, tourism, and citywide marketing communications efforts since 2018, and are excited to see the continued growth the city is experiencing.
